Holdings - The Freehold of the Backward River is too far away to provide Glamour.
Title - Though she only claims the title of Knight, she is an exiled Baroness of the Backward River in Chicago.  By the orders of the Queen of Grass she may not return to her lands for ten years and a day after the defeat of the Baron which earned her the title, nor may she carry the title and use it during her travels.

History:  Diane Johnston was the kind of kid no one wanted to take responsibility for.  The child of a Irish-American city Alderman, she early on became involved in a group of thugs, part Guardian Angels and part street gang.  Saint Patrick's Brigiade grew up among the dangerous streets of Chicago where blacks killed whites and Irish killed blacks and no one cared because the police were too busy elsewhere.  After all, half the members of the ethnic street militia were the children of city cops anyway.

Diane had a gift for leadership though, and that is what attracted the old soul...

In the lands of the Kingdom of Grass in the court of Queen Mary Elizabeth many a Dougal Knight has proved themselves worthy of the noble name, or disgraced it.  Few though have done both at the same time with such completeness as Dame Diane Gwennifer.   First appearing among the streets of Chicago, and the Irish street gangs, she was ignored by the local Baron, a grump Eiluned who spent more time scheming against those above him than watching and nurturing those below.

Gathering about herself a small force after the latest in a series of injustices done to commoners under her protection, she raised a force of Redcaps and Knockers laying siege to the Baron's freehold.  It lasted many weeks in the depth of Chicago's winter and was only broken when supplies in the isolated stronghold ran low.  Not a lot is known, though much is whispered about what happened to the kithian in the Freehold of the Backward River, and few would do that had it not been a queen's army come to arrest the Baron for a plot uncovered at court against his Queen.

The young knight's success against the Baron presented difficulties for the pragmatic Dougal Queen.  She could hardly reward someone who had committed such open savagery against one of her subjects, yet she could also not punish one who had attended and dispatched one of her own enemies.  A compromise reached, and deals struck, though rumor has it that the royal advisers are more responsible for it than the Queen herself.  The Dougal, Diane would keep her won lands, and take the title of her defeated adversary, but she could not profit from those lands for a decade and a day from the end of the battle.  Nor could she spend time among the Kingdom of Grass.  She was expressly ordered to move out among the other kingdom's of Concordia and earn legend to match her title worthy of song, instead of whisper.
