Andrews Air Force Base
Located in Prince George's County, Maryland. The main Air Force Base serving the nation's capital. Air Force One is based at Andrews AFB.
Fort Benning
Located in Columbus, Georgia. The base is also the location of the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation (WHISC), formerly known as School of the Americas. Some graduates of the school, mostly officers from Latin American countries, have been accused of committing human rights abuses including torture. Fort Benning also has a sniper training school and the Infantry School.
Fort Bragg
Located in Feyetteville, North Carolina. Home of U.S. Army Special Forces, the 82nd Airborne Division, and the Army Parachute School.
Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center
Located in Colorado Springs, Coloardo. Home of the North American Air Defense Command (a Joint American-Canadian operation known as NORAD), United States Space Command, and in Stargate: SG1 the Stargate Command on it's lower levels.
Fort Detrick
Located in Fredrick, Maryland. Home of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, the DoD's only laboratory equipped to study highly hazardous viruses at Biosafety Level 4. Called U Sam Rid. USAMRIID investigators contribute to advances in scientific knowledge and collaborate with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization, and academic centers of excellence worldwide.
Dover Air Force Base
Located in Delaware. Home of the U.S. military mortuary and where bodies of dead servicemen usually arrive first in the Continential United States (CONUS).
Fort Drum
Located in Jefferson County, New York. Home of the 10th Mountain Division. Originally positioned to prevent British invasion from Canada.
Fort Huachuha
Located in Arizona. Home of United States Army Intelligence.
Fort Irwin
Located in California. Home of the National Training Center.
Fort Knox
Located in Kentucy. Home of the National Gold Reserve.
Fort Meade
Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Home of the National Security Agency.
Nellis Air Force Base
Located in Clark County, Nevada. Primarily a flight test range, it is also home to the legendary and much speculated facility known as Area 51. In Stargate: SG1 alien technology brought back through the Stargate is sent to Nellis AFB.
Norfolk Naval Station
Located in Norfolk, Virginia. Home of the United States Atlantic Fleet.
Pearl Harbor
Located on Oahu, Hawaii. The home of the United States Pacific Fleet.
The Pentagon
Located in Arlington, Virginia. The headquarters of the United States Department of Defense. The largest office building in the world, it's central plaza is the world's largest "no-salute, no-cover" area (where hats need not be worn and salutes are not required). Informally the plaza is called Ground Zero because it is thought to be the most logical aiming point of a nuclear missile during the cold war.
Peterson Air Force Base
Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The nearest landing field to both the Air Force Academy and the Cheyenne Mountain Operations Center. In Stargate: SG1 most air plane trips begin or end at Peterson.
MCB Quantico
Located in Quantico,Virginia. Home of the Marine Corps Officers Candidate School, the FBI Academy, and the DEA Academy.
United States Air Force Academy (USAFA)
Located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Founded on April 1, 1954. The sports teams are called the Falcons.
United States Disciplinary Barracks (USDB)
Located at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Sometimes simply called Leavenworth, confines Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard offenders. Leavenworth is a maximum-security prison for commissioned officers, national-security related offenders convicted by court martial and any prisoners serving long sentences. The Fort Leavenworth location was originally known as the United States Military Prison, and was established by the United States Congress in 1874. It has been in continuous operation since May 15, 1875, with a new 521-bed facility put into use in 2002.
United States Military Academy (USMA)
Located in Orange County, New York. West Point was a fortified site during the Revolutionary War. General Benedict Arnold attempted to turn over the site to the enemy in 1780 for a financial consideration. Established in 1802, on the west bank of the Hudson River about 50 miles (80 km) north of New York City, it was the first school for civil engineering in the country.. Also the location of a small U.S. Mint which exclusively stamps out gold coin.
United States Naval Academy (USNA)
Located in Annapolis, Maryland. Founded in 1845.
Vandenberg Air Force Base
Located in Santa Barbara County, California. The United States chief military spaceport, in 1972 the base was selected for the West Coast Space Shuttle launch and landing site. Space Launch Complex 6 (SLC-6), originally built for the abandoned Manned Orbiting Laboratory project, was extensively modified for Shuttle operations.
Vandenberg is home to the 30th Space Wing and the Western Range, and is responsible for satellite launches for military and commercial organizations, as well as testing of intercontinental ballistic missiles. In Stargate: SG1 the missiles fired against Apophis' invasion ships were launched at Vandenberg AFB.
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base
Located in Dayton, Ohio. Home of the United
States Air Force Museum.
