The spaceport of Thendara is a huge, sprawling mass of modern buildings; shops, offices, living quarters, and anything else required in a modern spaceport. The most prominent point is the Terran HQ, a huge white building housing the Civil Service offices, as well as the offices of the Terran Legate. The buildings are temperature controlled , and the lights are set to Terran Standard Yellow, as many people have a hard time adjusting to the dim light and cold of the planet. (The temperature and light can be adjusted to suit an individual's desire...)

Native Relations
Darkovan natives
traditionally shun this area entirely. Traveling in this sector in Darkovan
clothes will draw stares, upset the monitoring devices that track comings
and goings from HQ, and may lead the Security forces to believe that the
person is unauthorized to be in the area.
A curfew exists
for children, and those under the age of twenty, from an hour before sunset
until an hour after sunrise (If you are in the Service, and under twenty,
you are exempt from this if you have a special permit).
Trade City
Between the Spaceport and the Old City is the Trade City; a rapidly-developed area of tightly clustered buildings. This is one of the only places on Darkover where natives and Terranan meet at all, and usually with bad results. As the name implies, the Trade City is a place to acquire wares, Darkovan and Terran alike. There are also a number of other establishments; Taverns, gambling halls, brothels built to suit patrons of both cultures...
Old City:Thendara
Thendara is the 'capital' of Darkover; where the Comyn Council meets in summer. It is built like any city in Darkover; with merchants' shops arranged according to the trade they ply; similar trades are put together on the same street, to make them easier to find. (e.g. Threadneedle Street houses tailors, dressmakers, etc..) The tallest building is Comyn Castle, an ancient stone fortress overlooking the entire city...

Terran Empire Citizens tend to shun the Old City entirely, finding it harsh, strange and primitive (yet, sometimes, oddly compelling). Roaming the old city in Terran clothes will undoubtedly provoke hostility, or, at the least, rude stares. To visit any of the above mentioned places, especially Comyn Castle and Comyn Tower, one must have prior invitation or permission.
