| Arilinn | Tower with a conservative reputation. The Keeper of Arilinn has her own seat on the Comyn Council. Arilinn is the only Tower in the Domains that still has a Veil to shield it from outside thoughts, and keep those without laran outside. There is a small village around the base of the Tower, and an Amazon Guild House used for training Midwives. |

| Armida | The Great House of the Alton Domain. Famous for its fine horses, set in a valley in the Kilghard Hills. Guests unwanted or disliked by the Lady of the house are placed in the Blue Room which has a leaky ceiling. |
| Caer Donn | Great House of Aldaran of Aldaran. First place of Terran re-contact. Spaceport Port Chicago is nearby. A large city, rivaling Thendara, and the only place on Darkover that Darkovans and Terrans truly mix. |
| Carcosa | Location of Castle Hastur. |
| Carthon | With a population of 9500 it is a trading city built on the banks of the Kadarin river near the Drytowns. Sharing many of the Drytowner customs (enslavement of women being one), it is regarded by the Seven Domains as a barbaric, violent place. This, however, does not affect the trading of various goods, the most noted being cotton fabric |

| Dalereuth | City on the shores of the Sea of Dalereuth; home of Dalereuth Tower. Site of clingfire production until the adoption of the Compact |
| Darriell Forst | Home of Lord Darriell. On the road north of Caer Donn. The northern most castle of any noble house. |
| Edelweiss | Home of the cadet branch of Lanart |
| Falconsward | Home of the Lord of MacAran |
| Hali | Home of the cloud-lake of Hali, by whose shores the Comyn are taken to rest with the Gods. The rhu fead, what remains of the Hali Tower destroyed during the Ages of Chaos, is the most holy site to the Hali'imyn. |
| Hammerfell | Home of the Dukes of Hammerfell (Moray of Hammerfell). The castle was once burned to ruins by the Lords of Storn with clingfire. |
| Highgarth | Home of Lord Castamir and Castle Castamir. Also the location of a Tower from the Ages of Chaos |
| Mariposa | Home of Castle Leynier, a cadet branch of Alton. On a lake of the same name. |
| Neskaya | First human settlement on Darkover ("New Skye") Neskaya Tower is the oldest standing Tower on Darkover; has a liberal reputation and long-standing ties to the Priestesses of Avarra and the Guild of Renunciates |
| Nevarsin | A town nestled in the foothills of the Hellers. It has a population of around 2,400 who has to endure being snowbound for most of the year. It is the home of Darkover's most noted Cristoforo monastery, St. Valentine-of-the-Snows. Its local economy is mostly taken up by the renowned ice melons. A walled city. |
| Scathfell | Home of the Aldaran of Scathfell. Known for it's hostage taking. |
| Serrais | Home of Ridenow of Serrais |
| Shainsa | Population 900, Shainsa is rather isolated, and as such has the 'purest' Drytowner culture. Men are polygamous; women are veiled and chained, being property. Not very prosperous due to the isolation |
| Storn Heights | Home of the Lord of Storn. Storn Castle is also called "High Windward" |
| Temora | Small fishing village on the (relatively) warm Sea of Dalereuth |
| Thandara | The "capital" of Darkover. Where the Comyn Council meets every summer, and also where the Terran Empire has it's primary spaceport. |
| Tramontana | Tower in the Hellers, north of Caer Donn |
| Valeron | Great House of the Aillard Domain, on the river of the same name. Darkover's forth largest city. Castle Aillard and the city are both generally referred to as Valeron. |
